is the intellectual property and creation of Fred Hurteau. This site was originally created to provide amateur bird enthusiasts with photos to enjoy and use to help them identify and appreciate the birds that visit their feeders at home. It has since been expanded to also serve as a source of higher quality images for stock photo licensing. A sister site, provides an outlet for stock photography of the Outer Banks, coastal scenery and nature photography.

Fred's interest in capturing images began before his teens. Years later, while attending commercial art school, he found his interest in nature photography, and birds in particular. He switched from film to digital SLR's in 2003, which provided higher resolution images, and quickly raised a long time hobby to a new level of serious work.
